Description
Course Description: Algebra II is to expand the mathematical content and concepts of Algebra I and Geometry. Students deal with more complex symbolic reasoning and calculations. Functions, which are briefly mentioned in Algebra I, are the most important subject in Algebra II. This class will cover different functions, e.g. Linear Functions, Quadratic Functions, Exponential Functions, Logarithmic Functions, and Trigonometric Functions. Aside from learning the concepts and skills, students will also develop their ability to comprehend standardized tests, i.e. SAT tests. The instructor will demonstrate how the same question might be presented in several totally different fashions. A graphing calculator such as the TI-83+ is recommended; at least a scientific calculator is required.
Prerequisite: Students taking this course should have completed both Algebra I and Geometry. Students are required to do the homework and to study assigned sections before class.
