Class Description

The focus of the English Language Arts (ELA) class is developing students’ skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Students will begin by briefly learning what it means to be effective communicators through presentations. From there, students will begin to engage with literature through a series of short stories to become compelling storytellers. Next, with their empirical understanding of literary devices, students will practice critical analysis of fictional texts. Students will be exploring this section in depth. Lastly, students will reinforce their research and critical thinking skills, culminating in an argumentative article.
