Homework Help Program - 2010 Fall Program  Coupon for Homework Help Program

ShareWorld's 2010 Spring Session will start on 1/4/10. The spring class schedule is attached. Please select classes according to your child's needs.

Goal

Our goal here at ShareWorld in our Homework Help Program is to provide a positive and enriching learning experience for our students. Our premise is to teach students, "How to fish for a life time" by giving them strategies and skills they can use through the whole of their academic careers, and not only to "give them a fish for a day."

Strategy

What may seem simple and easy actually teaches many skills and strategies including critical thinking, looking for details, sequencing, analysis, reading with understanding (comprehension) inference and many others. Questions need not only be answered on paper but also through oral interaction and expression along with the sharing of ideas between the students and the instructor. It is important that children develop good listening skills, and expressive language both oral and written, which today is at a record low, due to the all high practice of watching T.V. and playing video games. Many children have difficulty interacting with others, waiting for their turn, showing self-control due to our way of life today of instant gratification. Children like adults need a moment to be able to stop, reflect and think.

Typical Schedule
  1. Students come and have Snack Time
  2. Home Work Time (Do and finish Home Work)
  3. D.E.A.R Time (Drop Everything And Read) 20 Minutes
  4. Math Time Test of Fact - to ensure quick recall
  5. Teacher Reading Time with Students - either English or Chinese
  6. Other Language Developing Activities and Standard Testing Practice
  7. Enriching Program
